Ex-LMS Class 5 4-6-0 No.45305 is approaching the summit at Hoghton of the 1 in 100 climb between Preston and Blackpool with ‘The Fellsman’ railtour in August 2012.  For a number of years, this has been a regular train from Lancaster to Carlisle and return via the Settle & Carlisle line every wednesday in the summer.  Nearby is Hoghton Tower, where legend has it that King James I, during a visit in 1617, was so impressed with a loin of beef that he knighted it, giving rise to the name sirloin to this cut of beef.
