I live in the Northeast of England, I’ve had an interest in steam from an early age.

Born almost 70 years ago in Tamworth, hence I had to become a trainspotter.
Had an interest in steam from 11 and has never left me.
I began photography a few years later but only took it seriously from around 1995 when I began taking pictures at Tanfield Railway where I volunteer at Christmas time as Santa!
For the last ten years I have been going to North America, at least once a year, to capture their railways. Trains in the landscape fascinates and the landscapes in the USA are exceptional.
I use a Nikon D4 with an 80-200 lens as favourite.

These images have been taken to record Great British Steam Trains as well as the landscapes that they travel through, and have been composed and photographed with these two goals in mind.
