Later on the same day as WB6, ex-LMS Class 5 4-6-0s 45407 + 44871 approach Llanbister Road station with the ‘Central Wales Explorer’ which was steam hauled from Newport to Shrewsbury. The Central Wales line runs from Swansea to Craven Arms, south of Shrewsbury, through very attractive but sparsely populated Welsh countryside.
