Class 2MT 2-6-2T No.41316 stands at Corfe Castle station on a lunchtime train on the branch line from Wareham to Swanage on 30/7/66. The famous castle can be seen in the background between the station buildings. The day is memorable since it was the day that England won the soccer World Cup final. The locomotive was designed by Ivatt in 1946 for the LMS, but after nationalisation of the network, these useful branch line engines found use all over the country.
