Competed in 2008, 60163 ‘Tornado’ became famous as being the first steam loco built in Britain since before the end or regular steam operation. Built to the Peppercorn ‘A1’ Class 4-6-2 of the LNER, all of which class had been scrapped by BR before the end of steam, it has been assigned the next number in the series, and is named after the famous RAF aircraft. It is seen here approaching Chepstow with the ‘Severn Coast Express’ from Gloucester to Cardiff and Bristol on 30/05/09.
