Day 4 Tuesday 2nd May : Inverness – Perth – Glasgow
Ex-LMS ‘Class 5’ 4-6-0 45212 has once again joined ex-LNER Class ‘K1’ 2-6-0 62005 for the journey back over the ex-Highland mainline. The pair are here crossing the long viaduct at Culloden. This viaduct is just over a mile from the site of the battlefield of Culloden, where, in 1746, the English forces of the Duke of Cumberland decisively defeated the Jacobite forces of Charles Edward Stuart (‘Bonny Prince Charlie’).
