At Morebath Junction, the Exe Valley branch joined the east to west Taunton – Barnstaple line.  The layout seen here suggests a junction of two double track lines, but in fact both were single lines virtually throughout their length.  ’4300’ Class 2-6-0 7333 crosses the junction heading towards Taunton with a train from Barnstaple on 26th July 1963.  The Exe Valley branch is seen coming in from the left, and Morebath Halt, which was served only by Exe Valley trains can be seen in the left distance.
