Competed in 2008, 60163 ‘Tornado’ became famous as being the first steam loco built in Britain since before the end or regular steam operation. Built to the Peppercorn ‘A1’ Class 4-6-2 of the LNER, all of which class had been scrapped by BR before the end of steam, it has been assigned the next number in the series, and is named after the famous RAF aircraft. It is approaching the summit of Dainton bank with ‘The Tamar Tornado’ from Bristol to Plymouth on 08/08/09.
