Steam Railmotors were a concept of the early 20th Century for economic use on lightly used lines without the need for a loco to run round its stock for the return journey. The single coach had at one end of the passenger compartment a vertical boiler mounted on the underframe of the driving bogie. SRM No. 93 was built at Swindon in 1908, but converted to a conventional auto trailer in 1934. It was rebuilt as Railmotor No 93 by the Great Western Society at Didcot in 2007 – 2009. On two Sundays in November 2012, SRM93 was allowed to run on the Network Rail Looe Branch, and is seen here running alongside the East Looe river on one of its return runs to Liskeard on 11th November.
