Although entitled ‘The Cornishman’, this Railway Touring Company excursion on Saturday 19th May 2012 is following the exact route of the ‘Royal Duchy’, from Bristol to Par and return.  Ex-BR ‘Britannia’ Class 4-6-2 No. 70013 ‘Oliver Cromwell’ is at Tigley on Rattery Bank, the second of the infamous South Devon banks.  It is close to this point that the 1 in 50 gradient eases to 1 in 90.
