On the final day of GBVII, 4th May 2014, the train returned down the East Coast mainline from Edinburgh to Kings Cross. The final leg from York to Kings Cross was operated by ex-LMS ‘Coronation’ Class 4-6-2 46233 ‘Duchess of Sutherland’. The mainline from York now avoids Selby on a relatively newly constructed diversion, and the train is crossing the modern viaduct over the River Wharfe shortly after leaving York.
