Monday 2nd May 2016. With a shorter train and weight restrictions for the diesel, 44871 made the return run from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh unassisted. After stop for water and to allow a service train to pass on the otherwise single line, the train is climbing past Loch Gowan towards the summit at Luib.
