The Isle of Man is a mecca for the vintage transport enthusiast, with a steam railway, an electric railway and a horse tramway, all over 100 years old.  Unfortunately, over half the route mileage of the 3 ft gauge steam railway was closed in 1968, but the line from Douglas to Port Erin still remains.  A train for Port Erin leaves Douglas in May 1970.  At this time, Douglas station remained as it was prior to closure of the other lines, but today is much more compact.
