Ex-LNER Class ‘K1’ 2-6-0 62005 hauled the train unassisted over the ‘West Highland’ line to Fort William, a regular stamping ground the Class in the 1950’s.  Due to severe fire risk in the area as a result of a prolonged dry period, considerable assistance was provided by the diesel on the rear, which was anyway required to bring the train back to Glasgow since the K1 was to remain at Fort William to assist with the Jacobites.  The train is here climbing into the hills above Bridge of Orchy, with Loch Tulla in the background.
