A moderate overnight snowfall had created this wintry scene in the Pennines on 4th March 2006 as ex-LMS Class 5 4-6-0 45407 plus ex-BR Class 4 2-6-0 76079 leave Todmorden, with Stoodley Pike Monument prominent in the background, on the 1 in 65 climb to Copy Pitt. This round trip from Manchester was organised by Kingfisher Tours to commemorate the 175th anniversary of the formation of the Liverpool and Manchester Railway, one of the pioneers in early railway construction. Both locomotives represent types which worked over this line prior to the elimination of steam in every day service.
